Past concerts

On sunday, November 4:th the Hjortensberg church in Nyköping invites you to an All Hallows eve concert. Among the performers is Ioannis Theodoridis, who played at the Nyköping Guitar Seminar earlier this year. Ioannis is a graduate from the Master of Performance program at the Royal College of Music in London, where he studied with Chris Stell and Gary Ryan. He has won many prestigious awards including the Lennox Berkeley Guitar Award and has toured extensively both as soloist and chamber musician.
This year he also won the Jörgen Rörby Scolarship, with the following motivation of the jury:
“The winner of the 2018 Jörgen Rörby Scholarship, Ioannis Theodoridis, shows a very high quality both in expression, technique, colours, and tone. He has a strong will and ability to communicate with the audience, as well as respect fot he musical text. The chosen programme was highly demanding both musically and technically. A strong stage appearance and a charismatic personality makes us convinced the international concert scene.”

Ekaterina Vasilyeva plays music from Japan, Armenia, Russia, France and Italy.

Guitar trio Viva Project will perform The four seasons by Antonio Vivaldi.

A musical journey from Sweden to Brazil and Canada.

Oskar Axerup and Cecilia Edman: Swedish folk tunes – Suite for 2 guitars.

Bougt- Bergek Duo: Swedish and brazilian folk music on two classical guitars.

Ioannis Theodoridis: Fireworks of spanish tunes.

Tim Phelan; The Journey for Guitar duo and the Seminar Orchestra.

Dedicated to Nyköping Guitar Seminar. Soloists: Ine Clerckx and Jonas Gedeshi.

 

Mästarmöte,  October 26:th 2017

This was Mästarmöte with Göran Söllscher and Mats Bergström, two of Sweden’s most well known and acclaimed guitarists.

The concert was a unique collaboration with Kulturskolan, School of the Arts, in Nyköping. Sörmlands Nyheter wrote a great review, calling it “A vitamin pill”.
